On Tuesday we are going camping as a family for the first time in alot of years!!! we are going to this place called Loeb state park, its on the coast and is amazingly beautiful. so keep us in your prayers because it is a scary road we have to go on. have a safe summer

Well the Britt Jazz camp was soooo much fun!! I learned alot and made lots of new friends. The instructors were the best, they were from all over the country some as far a Tennessee and Kansas!! the kids were from all over the west coast!! one from Fresno, CA a bunch from Washington state and of course Oregon. myself and three other people were the only ones from our high school but that made for alot of meeting new friends. we were each in a combo bad, witch is a small band made up of 3-5 people. Mine was alot of fun. the main focus for these groups are soloing, mainly improv. and then for the whole camp there was two big bands. they were alot of fun. If you have Facebook I have pics up of us preforming on the Britt stage!! we had full sound and lighting and were treated like true professional musicians!! we had catered dinner, security guards, and personal dressing rooms!!!! It was a great experience.
The night before our performance we got to go to a Chris Botti concert!!!! Chris is a mainstream pro trumpet player and someone I have listened too for years. he has the most amazing sound and a really great personality. and we were all but 4 feet from him in a backstage room!!! ahh summer is turning out great!!!!!!!!!!
well Summer vacation is now here and it’s not going the way we kids all expect!!
I know that I always look at the end of the year as a exciting and fun time because we don’t have to go to this “school” thing that seems to take over our lives!! I mean come on 6 hours a day for over 180 day!! that’s a lot of time spent on our butts learning stuff that, we are told, will help us in the “real world”. pff I don’t think so. 
but know that the school year is over I really wish that I was not so eager for the year to be over. Because I mean now I don’t get to see all of my friends all day, and even tho some of the stuff we learn I don’t like some things are really interesting. now that it is summer I get to stay at home all day and the go to baseball twice a week. that gets boring.
But I know that in order to enjoy myself this summer I need to start a hobby that does not cost to much money or something that does not hurt/kill something. maybe I will try to break a record. yea. well if any of you have a idea I would love to hear it. please be nice (Tina)
I got accepted to go to this jazz camp put on by the Britt Institute and has instructors from all over the country!! I got a scholarship for the ginormous price and I get to go!!! I am so excited it is on June 21-27. uhhh I am so excited I hope I have fun.
Also it is my brothers birthday tomorrow and he is turning 12!!! wish him a happy birthday!!
An amazing opportunity is now open to the Grants Pass High school Marching band! after months of audition tapes, dvds, and professors writing recommendation letters. we have been accepted to march in the 2010 Macy’s Day Parade!!!!!!!! That’s New York baby!!!! we are one of 8 high school bands in the parade. ahhhhhhh I am so excited to wait 18 months, or 574 days uhhh I will be a senior!!!
If you have a jazz album in your collection it is most likely “kind of Blue” by Miles Davis. It is at a quadruple platinum status in sales and it’s considered to be the greatest album of all time!!!!!! so why today you ask? today was the final day of recording for the album in 1959. If you have not heard of him look him up.!! phenomenal musician
These last few days have been sooo sunny and nice temp around 79-80 ish and it is lovely!! But Today I think is the most beautiful day yet!! ah the sounds of birds and the smell of fresh cut lawns.
so I hope the email thing worked!!! I had gotten a suggestion for it and I did not know how to do it, but after looking into it I found that it is really not that hard. so I hope you guys can stay updated without being frustrated because I have not posted in a wile.
Today we had a preformance for the south Eugen wind ensable. They came down and played for us and we played for them just so we could get evaluated and used to playing our set of songs under pressure!! It went well, we played our songs quite good. We have one song called “ave maria” it is a choral that some of you may have heard sung. but it is a band version and it is one of the most butiful songs I have ever heard!!!!! we even start out the song by singing in latin!!! Latin is sooo hard to learn, and pronounce. no wonder it is not a language used today anywere!!! Well anyways I hope we do great at our STATE BAND COMPITITION!!!! I cant belive we made it for the second year in a row!!!!!!! We won the districsts (all of southern Oregon) in March. wish us luck

hello all I am sorry for not being able to write for a while but I am back and I hope you are to!! I have now started baseball and I’m on the Yankees!!!! our team still needs a lot of work because we have a lot of young kids. There was not enough 13’s in order to have a 13 year old league so they are mixed with the 14-15 year olds this year, so our team is young and inexperienced with the 90ft base paths and the 60ft mound. so it will take time. our band won districts (all or southern Oregon) and we are going to state in may. it is going to be at the university Of Oregon in eugene. wish us luck ☻ my school work is going good and I got student of the month for the second time this year!!! hope you all have a good Easter and be safe!
