Fire!!

29 06 2008

Yesterday we had a huge thunderstorm with huge hail. I can’t believe how big they were, They must of been at least the size of a large marbles. It also caused many fires around here. The air shows it. We live in a valley so we can normally see mountains around us but this morning we could only see grayish white smoke and ash. This is probably not uncommon for people in California right now but here it is weird.

And also we have been told that there won’t be any 14 year old all-stars this year because of lack of participants. Most 14’s are doing basketball and blow off all-stars. So because of them us 7 people that were looking forward to all-stars can’t play :(

Update on the swimming hole. It was so much fun. The water was really cool but other than that it was awesome. There was even a rock that we could jump off. We decided to take our dog Jonah to the river and he was hilarious. Keep in mind that he is a lab, they love the water right? Well not this one he would find the smallest rock in the water but close to the shore and he would stand on it with all four feet fearing the water. Then he would slip and thrash around until he got to the shore. durf. So he’s not a water dog. Anyway the river was fun. We will probably go back again.

Today we are going to the swimming hole. I would tell you were it is but it is secret! It should be lots of fun! We are also bringing our dog Jonah. It is hilarious when he goes to the river because he blows nose bubbles in the water.

Peace out

summer activities

26 06 2008

This summer has been o.k. in the activities department. Some things that we have done have been, Baseball, bike riding, swimming, BBQ’s, and bowling. We have also been on some adventures, like the caves. But we are also investigating the possibilities of going down to California for a couple of days. It sounds like fun and I hope that we end up going. It will be cool seeing old friends that we have not seen for awhile!

So other than that all is good up here in Oregon

Peace out

Spencer

Beautiful weather

24 06 2008

Yesterday’s and today’s weather have been really nice. The sky’s have been filled with blue. The weather has been weired here lately with one day being cloudy and rainy, and the next being sunny and HOT. It is the perfect weather for baseball today, lucky for us that we happen to have a game today against another Grants Pass team! I’m sure it will be a good game. Other than baseball these day’s have been filled with swimming and bowling.

Baseball!!

21 06 2008

Today was a perfect example of why you never give up! At our baseball game today we were down by two and  just could not hit. So inning after inning we would either hit a ball deep and right to a guy, or we would just hit it to the infield and they would throw us out. But in the second to last inning we started to get hits. Now I’m not saying that they were good hits, just we were placing them in the right spot. So with one out, we are now ahead by one and a man on second. I get up and …. ball one, then…. ball two, once again…. ball three. By this time I am getting kind of mad that this pitcher can’t throw a strike. I wanted a hit! So then the pitcher delivers and yea I got a hit… off my back. This pitcher was then pulled out after just one batter. Their coach did not look very happy with him. In the end we managed to hold them and we won. A come back win. What a game!

Could not think of title :)

20 06 2008

Well yesterday was a pretty lax day. It started off with waking up, eating breakfast, watering lawns, which by the way no one suggested to me. Then I got ready for my baseball game in Ashland, OR. to play one of the best teams in the league! So after driving there and trying to find the Field we get there and realized that we were way early. So we had lunch/dinner in the car. After that we finally saw a person from my team, by now our game was running late and it looked like were going to forfeit. Then out of the blue most of our team pullsup and we have a game! The game was a boring game considering that we only beat them by 15-0. After doing a victory dance we packed up and left to go home.  However I was not going home, I was going to a friends house. Although being tired it was fun!

were “yea were out of school” meets “now we have nothing to do”

18 06 2008

With no baseball and no trips, today will be a very long and boring day unless we (being my mom, brother and me) can make it a fun day. Right now I am thinking of what we should do, that is not fifty million dollars and we don’t have to travel far (gas). So there is very limited things to do. One other reason is that the majority of the day it is pushing 100 degrees. So if you have and suggestions please leave a comment because this is urgent!

Update on the game last night, we came out on top with a 8 to 1 win. I had a good game. I went 3 for 3 with three singles. It was hard to hit the other pitcher because he through like 20 mph. It was a big change from the high 70’s to the low 80’s that we are used to seeing. But other than that it was a cool game. And yes it was a nice field.

The Baseball team

17 06 2008

This year our baseball team is doing very good. We are 8 and 2 with a lot of games to go! Our team has been very successful because we have good hitting and pitching. These two key elements are the major skills to have to win a game. Without them, your broke. Today we have a game in another town and have to drive there for at least an hour and a half. They are a new team and were just added to the league. So we are hoping that we will whoop them. From what I’ve heard their field is very nice. “It is almost like a stadium with the nicest Field you have ever seen.” Said my friend Ian. Today will be a fun day and I hope we win!

Peace out

schools out for summer!

17 06 2008

Today I have just realized the awesomeness of being on summer vacation. Just yesterday my family and I went to the Oregon Caves National Monument. It was so cool seeing all the centuries old formations. It truly makes you thank God for His wonderful creations. Sometimes I feel that we take our earth’s beauty for granted and never thank God for what He created. So next time you see a wonderful sunset or drive through the great redwoods of California just let it remind you of who’s YOUR creator.
