well….It was an adventure

7 08 2008

Today we where invited to a party for a local orthodontics clinic. and there was so many people there.  There must have been 500 people there! It was a the “family fun Center” witch is just like a little miniature golf and go-cart track. Anyway at the go-cart track We waited for at least an hour and a half, then it started to sprinkle. we were so angry because now we were at the front of the line and the operators were thinking of closing the ride! but they came to the conclusion that they were going to let one more cycle go through. so we get on and there is a 10 minute wait for the rain. well finally were off and now it is pouring and it is basically impossible to turn and when you do get enough grip to turn your car you just slide and spin! At one time there was about 12 cars spun out on the track. It was so fun, but now it is poring like huge drops and there is a puddle in the bottom of my car! Also on the track there was still hydroplaning cars and cars spun around. It was sooooo much fun. especially when you go to turn and you crank it because you know that it is going to be impossible to turn and you keep going straight! oh man fun fun fun! the best part about this is that after 15 minutes of pouring rain it was nice out! except the smoke in the air!

greetings from Santa Cruz

16 07 2008

Today is Wednesday and were are having a ball! last night we went to the boardwalk and rode some sweet rides like, the bumper cars, adventure train and more. but the one ride that was the pinical of all fun and thrill was the Giant Dipper. It is the seventh oldest roller coaster in operating condition in the country and was built in 1927! It was and still is the greatest ride in the world!!!

But we did not come to California for the boardwalk we came to see Friendsad old nabors and that is what we have done. We are staying at the bakers house on the west side of Santa Cruz. We came to know them from going to our old church Santa Cruz Bible Church and are very nice people. Today we hope to see some other people. Our time has been great and it’s only started.

Fun Fun Fun!

9 07 2008

This weekend, as you probably know from a resent post our family went to the Douglas County Speedway to see the races. Well that is not all. We also went on a secret trip that our parents would not tell us were it was. Then after going up a long dirt driveway we saw a house. Me and my brother were really confused because some how the garage door opened and then my dad said “were here.” Turns out that one of the other doctors has a house for sale about 10 min away from the races, And right now it is empty. Well the doctor said that instead of driving home for 3 hours late at night we could stay there! It was weird but fun. The house was on 30 acres of beautiful and serene Oregon forest. Now being on an edventure we went on a trip to the coast on nothing but back roads. We went all the way down the coast and meandering our way home.

A Day At The Races

5 07 2008

Today we will be going to the Douglas county speedway to watch a special 4 of July racing celebration it should be lots of fun. There will be Lot’s of serious races like Super Modified and Hornets. But there will be some not so serious races like Motorhome and Mini Van races then to rap up the night a huge fire works display. The night should be a night to remember.

Fire!!

29 06 2008

Yesterday we had a huge thunderstorm with huge hail. I can’t believe how big they were, They must of been at least the size of a large marbles. It also caused many fires around here. The air shows it. We live in a valley so we can normally see mountains around us but this morning we could only see grayish white smoke and ash. This is probably not uncommon for people in California right now but here it is weird.

And also we have been told that there won’t be any 14 year old all-stars this year because of lack of participants. Most 14’s are doing basketball and blow off all-stars. So because of them us 7 people that were looking forward to all-stars can’t play :(

Update on the swimming hole. It was so much fun. The water was really cool but other than that it was awesome. There was even a rock that we could jump off. We decided to take our dog Jonah to the river and he was hilarious. Keep in mind that he is a lab, they love the water right? Well not this one he would find the smallest rock in the water but close to the shore and he would stand on it with all four feet fearing the water. Then he would slip and thrash around until he got to the shore. durf. So he’s not a water dog. Anyway the river was fun. We will probably go back again.

schools out for summer!

17 06 2008

Today I have just realized the awesomeness of being on summer vacation. Just yesterday my family and I went to the Oregon Caves National Monument. It was so cool seeing all the centuries old formations. It truly makes you thank God for His wonderful creations. Sometimes I feel that we take our earth’s beauty for granted and never thank God for what He created. So next time you see a wonderful sunset or drive through the great redwoods of California just let it remind you of who’s YOUR creator.
